Aims And Objectives

  • To acquire the involvement of the social community into self-development.
  • To actively work towards improving skills of the social community and their young generations.
  • To alleviate poverty through creation of employment and development.

Health And Safety

Compliance to safety standards is achieved through regular and thorough internal safety audits the results of which are presented at board meetings at both executive and operational levels of the group’s management structures. The group recognises that the health and safety of its employees is critical to its on-going sustainability and success.

SAFETY-Ntlemo Projects seeks to create a mind-set and an environment where people believe it is possible to work injury free, regardless of where they are in the world, what role they undertake, or in which operation they work.

Zero harm is an aspiration that drives our strategy and response to health, safety and environmental (HSE) challenges. Strong leadership and continuous motivation and education of our employees to take responsibility for themselves, their colleagues and the environment are key elements of our HSE strategy. Through this we strive to embed HSE values and a safety culture built on the principle of STOP.THINK

We believe that management is ultimately responsible for providing a safe and healthy workplace. However, this cannot be achieved without the participation of highly motivated employees and other stakeholders. As a result, appropriate strategies, structures and resources are continuously implemented to make this partnership possible.

As valued stakeholders, the safety of employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate remains of the highest concern to the group.

The following risks were identified as having an unacceptable outcome in the company over a 5 year period and interventions were developed to mitigate these risks:

  • Medical fitness of employees
  • Mobile telephone use on construction sites
  • Scaffold erection and dismantling
  • Lifting operations
  • Mobile plant and machinery
  • Excavations
  • Falling from heights

HIV/AIDS-There shall be no discrimination between employees with HIV/AIDS and those without, and between HIV/AIDS and other comparable life threatening conditions. -The company recognises the seriousness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. -Education and awareness programmes aimed at reducing the potential spreading of the virus, minimising risk factors and providing general information on AIDS, have been developed by the company.

The majority of our operations have installed extensive societal health programmes, including substance abuse programme, voluntary HIV/AIDS counselling and testing and others. The Group's risk-based HIV/AIDS policy promotes voluntary testing, non-discrimination and awareness about preventing the spread of the disease and mitigating its effects
